Aromatic essential oils are an effective deterrent for pests and insects. Join us to learn how essential oils can be used in simple formulas to repel mosquitos, ticks and other biting insects. Essential oils can be used to keep flies, mice and spiders at bay. Participants will make a bug repellent spray to take home. Attending the prior classes is not a prerequisite, but it is recommended. Join us to learn how to make bug repellents without using harmful chemicals There is a $20 materials fee and registration is required.

Plan for two hours hike time. Follow Route 23 East from Otis center and the parking lot and trailhead will be on the south side of the street. If you hit the beaver ponds of Otis, turn around. The gravel parking area is on Rte. 23, just east of Mt. Hunger Road. Although the trail is easily traveled and well-marked, be prepared for mud/rocks/roots. Maps and bottled water will be provided.
