Dynamite Box Trail Hike

Saturday, March 30th, 10am

Join us for a two hour loop hike exploring the lesser traveled areas of the State Forest.  We will hike along Sanderson Brook, pass the scenic vista of Sanderson Falls and then at the 5 trail junction get on the woodsy Dynamite Box Trail and loop back on the scenic Buelah Land trail.  We will see several waterfalls and old stone foundations.  Hike is uphill from Chester to Blandford and then descent on the return.  Meet at the Trailhead in the parking lot of Sanderson Falls across from Bannish Lumber on Route 20 in Chester.   Plan for two hours to complete the loop. Although the trail is easily traveled and well-marked, be prepared for winter hiking. Weather depending, bring walking sticks and spikes if there is snow on the ground, surface is gravel and rocky in some sections.  There are no facilities at the trail. Good Dogs are welcome!

No registration required, hike is free, donations are welcome!  For more information email westernmasshilltownhikers@aol.com
